The title Harmattan comes from the wintry West African season and the trade wind of the same name. The weather can get colder but also hotter, depending on location, and at times the dust turns the air gray in the "Harmattan Haze". Heavy winds can also cause tornadoes. Harmattan is an orchestral impression of this fleeting season, which I experienced during my residency in Benin, West Africa.
